Small update: Might sell prints. Might start an etsy. Lots of maybe’s… I’m looking for a good place to make prints, the ones I currently have lying around are terrible quality :(
Also, art class has been exceptionally dumb (yay highschool), but I promise I’ll update once I get the plans done for the next project :)
Anonymous asked: So, for you're pen works I was curious, do you sketch it all out in pencil before inking or do you just do it in pen from the start? Also how long does it take you to do a piece, on average.
The smaller designs, like the flower and bear and school note sketches I posted recently, I just do in pen. But if I’m doing a bigger piece, like the kingfisher, where I’m drawing over the entirety of a page, I’ll map everything out in pencil first. The only reason I don’t with the smaller pieces is that I’m just lazy, and since they’re so tiny I don’t mind if I mess up. But it would be terrible to make a mistake on something that takes a lot of time to complete, especially in pen and ink, where everything’s so final.
The full-page pieces I’ll usually do over a three to five day period, and they’ll take me about eight hours. Research for the concept, when I’m drawing something out of a legend and want the details to be accurate, also takes quite a while. The small designs (like the bear!) take me anywhere from five minutes to half an hour.
Sorry for the long answer!
jackfromhp5 asked: I'm not sure if you do this but hey, worth an ask. Your style is so intriguing and beautiful, would you be able to draw a rooster? They are my favourite animal and I would love to see your interpretation! If not for me for everyone else. :) Best wishes and good luck for the future
Wow, thank you so much. And sure, I love birds, they’re super fun to draw. I don’t think I’ve ever drawn a rooster before… I’ll post a study of one tomorrow, maybe :)
Anyways, I won’t draw anything anyone asks me to, but if they suggest something that sounds fun, I’ll definitely consider it.
scream-mayday asked: did you draw that hummingbird back in October that you posted? would you give me permission to get it tattooed? i've been looking for a hummingbird design in memory of my grandmother that passed away, and i love it so much.
You have my permission, definitely! I’m honoured that someone wants my art as a tattoo.
If you do get the tattoo, could you submit a picture? I’d love to see it :)
youngerthanmytongue asked: would you ever do a commission for a tattoo design?
I’d be totally open to working on a tattoo design! Sounds fun. Probably not with the subject as a person, though… still working on faces.
Anonymous asked: I love your art and style so much!!! You are amazing!!!!!
Thank you so much!! :)
dirtyybabee asked: Can we have your art tattooed on us as long as we make sure the artist knows not to change any part of it or claim it as theirs?
Umm… wow. Sure, okay. That’s kind of huge, but if you really want, go for it! I’d be honoured :)
If you do decide to get the tattoo, could you just send a picture my way? I’d love to see it!
shdwdmn666 asked: I can't speak for anyone else, but a humming bird you posted was showing on my radar thing that is on the side of my dashboard. It was beautiful so I took a closer look and found that I like the things you share :)
Ah! Tumblr radar, wow, that’s so exciting. I was kind of thinking that, thanks for clearing it up, though!
So, I went to bed last night hoping to wake up to 200 followers… and woke up to over a thousand! Slightly confused as to where you all came from, but I’m very grateful to have so many people show interest in my art :)
My flowerbird piece blew up to almost 6,000 notes, too, so I’m guessing it was featured somewhere?
Anyways, thank you so much for following me! I try my hardest to update once a day but I usually end up with a few posts per week. If you have any questions at all, or just want to say hi, please send me an ask!
