wanderlust and an abundance of caffeine

The blog of an artist who has no idea what she's doing. Mostly illustrations in pen and ink or pencil crayon. Commission ideas? Feel free to message me, or you can reach me at

Version two? Think I like this one better, actually.
An attempt at the illustrated manuscript style. I chose the word avarice, a synonym for greed, mostly because the A and V sat nicely together.
The full piece, at 8x10”, scanned on and digitally coloured. I posted details from this one earlier!

I’ll upload the full piece later, though I’m not sure how the details will play out on Tumblr.

Hello lovely followers!

I usually avoid making text posts but I want to explain my lack of activity. I’m a live in nanny for the summer (sarcastic yay), so work is intense and long and doesn’t leave much time for drawing. There also is no scanner in this house, which further complicates things.

I do have a few smaller pieces that I’d like to upload, but I won’t have access to a scanner until this weekend, so I’ll be continuing my little hiatus until then. After that, I will try to post at least one piece per week, to keep things moving.

Second of the series?
This one is tiny, about the length of my finger at its widest. It’s also my last stone, maybe I’ll get more… I really like how they turn out. Couldn’t quite capture the shine and translucence on my phone camera, though!

Sorry for being so inactive! Exam season was chaotic.
Anyways, I decided to play around with an agate slice I’ve had for years, and my white paint pen actually worked wonders on its surface. The stone itself is about the size of my hand, from the base of my palm to my fingertips.

Final project for art is taking too much time away from more important history essays…

Work in progress. 11x14”.
Since I still can’t find a scanner big enough, I’ll make do with my phone. My Russian Bear piece, a bit older… I uploaded a detail of the architecture a while ago.

Finished the project! Tiny little landscape in an altoids tin.

Started project for art class. Guess what the theme is!

A wendigo! And its baby. I’ve been playing around with designs for a while, this one’s much more animal based than usual. Quick sketch, 9”x12”, pen and ink.
